SUSTAINABLE VOLUNTEER WORK:

Beacon of Hope Uganda is a Ugandan Non-Government Organization that works with indigenous and marginalized communities to promote sustainable development in four thematic areas (Education, HealthCare, Agriculture and Micro-Business Finance). In addition, we collaborate with our direct partner Hope Development Volunteers to support over 35 grass-roots organizations and communities in Uganda that need volunteers to help in their development.

 

Our "Sustainable Development Volunteer" program is a low-cost program through which we seek to connect willing volunteers with these worthwhile programs and communities, creating a win-win situation for all. We strive to provide volunteers a rewarding and memorable experience in which your talents will be used for real benefit.

Sustainable Development Volunteer Program:

For those interested in making sustainable change in the communities in need, no program fees required all the money and donations you make goes directly to support the project of your interest, you can participate in an-ongoing program as an individual traveler but if you have a friend or you traveling as a group and family, it’s very much advisable to get involved in a new project, which you can see from the beginning to completion.

 

Our services include airport pickup, arrangement of accommodation, orientation to Uganda and your particular project, project set-up, accompaniment to the volunteer site, and follow up for the duration of your volunteering in Uganda to see that everything is working out just RIGHT.

 

Volunteers can work with one of programs in Healthcare (Outreaches and Construction), Agriculture (Farms and Training), Education (Teaching and Construction) and Micro-Business Finance (Training and Venture Capital Fund).

 

Our Sustainable Development Program registrations and fundraising provide core funding for our projects. In order to carry out our projects we seek additional financing and resources from international organizations and funders. Your contribution as a volunteer is a vital and much-appreciated part of our work!

 

For organizations, universities, high-schools and other institutions, we will be happy to collaborate to host your volunteers’ team on our sustainable development program either on Education, Healthcare, Agriculture or Micro-Business Finance to create a sustainable change!

 

When your volunteer vacation comes to an end, you'll be tired and a bit dirty. But, you will have made a big difference in the lives of local children. You'll leave the village with visible proof of the work you've done and happy memories of the people you've helped.

EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT:

4 Workcamps a Year- Construction of schools, Renovations and Furnishing

Number of Participants per workcamp- 20 members Needed

The Only Requirement: Fund-raise USD$1500 as a direct donation to the Project of your interest

Program Duration:- 2 weeks to 3 months (a participant can choose to stay from 2 weeks to 3 months with no any added donation or program fee)

 

AGRICULTURE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT:

 

2 workcamps a year -Working on Farms, starting gardens and Training of local farmers and families

Number of Participants per work- 5 members needed

Number of Participants per workcamp- 10 members needed
