Volunteer
with our Hope and Relief Mission Project
As poverty and
poor education system in Uganda continues on and life becomes worse and hard
for rural based Ugandans, many people from western countries (U.S.A, Canada,
Netherlands, Germany, Italy, U.K and so many others) are asking how they can help. In response,
the Beacon of Hope Uganda has organized the “Hope and Relief Mission
Project”
to Uganda, a new program designed to serve the Ugandan people who are suffering
because of poor systems in place in terms of Health, Education, Low employment
opportunities and other deadly ailments.
Ugandans have
shown extraordinary courage and resilience in the face of these brutal
experiences. But the anxiety and strain they live under are causing serious
emotional stress among the most vulnerable - children, the elderly and the
psychologically and physically handicapped.
Beacon of Hope
Uganda that cares for these men, women, and children is understaffed. We need
help - western volunteers who will provide care, support, skills and love for
these communities.
We have
established a special program to assign volunteers from abroad where they are
most required. The greatest demand is for volunteers who will serve as
assistants and leaders in our programs and projects
We’re
looking for volunteers in Uganda who will contribute to projects in communities
where help is most needed. Our Volunteer Program is
an immersion program customized for individual travelers, students,
professionals, families, groups, or anyone with the desire to serve in a rural
village in Uganda. The timetable you travel, your village destination, and the
projects you may be involved with are all geared to your skills and interests,
and the villages' needs.
The program is
collaboration between BoHU and the under-served rural villages. We are
committed to meeting the needs of our communities, and to placing volunteers in
programs that provide safe and meaningful experiences.
If you are
interested in participating in our Volunteer Program, complete an application
and we will work with you to identify your best placement options in Uganda.
Because it is
an immersion experience, days in the village allow for a variety of
opportunities. And whether you work in a clinic, school, or orphan home, participate
in building or agricultural projects, or simply assist in the day-to-day tasks.
BoHU works
closely with each volunteer to ensure comprehensive preparation, including both
an understanding of the people with whom you will be working, and all considerations
necessary for travel overseas.
